Sustainability
Sustainable is wonderful! And incredibly important to us at Comfydence.
We fully respect that sustainability is a complex issue with no single answer. There’s no doubt we all need to reflect on how we live our lives — considering both external and internal aspects. It’s about everything from how we consume, which choices we make because we want to, and which ones we make because we feel we must.
Sustainability can also feel complicated and difficult to achieve in everyday life. It’s not always easy to understand all short- and long-term consequences, and often shame is used as a motivator to change environmental behaviours. We don’t believe in shame or guilt. We believe in the power of creating awareness, belonging, and opportunities for change.
If 150,000 women wear our panties just one day per cycle, 7.2 million disposable products are saved per year.
Conscious & simple choices
At Comfydence, we believe in making conscious choices. And conscious choices are best made based on facts and correct information. When you know what a product contains and how to use it best, the choice becomes easier.
When developing Comfydence, we have always kept in mind how to be as efficient as possible without sacrificing other values such as quality and feel. Because we are small and flexible, we can create unexpected solutions — which we hope to develop even further over time.

Although we are a small company in a global perspective, we use our voice and principles to contribute to a more sustainable society. Supporting women is an important step. Openly sharing women’s issues, challenges, and limitations is the first step towards driving development of alternatives that are good for half the world’s population — and for the planet.
To place our environmental and sustainability efforts in a long-term context, we have reviewed Comfydence’s impact within the framework of the Global Sustainable Development Goals.

We of course wish to contribute to all goals, but we focus mainly on making a significant difference in Goals 3, 4, 5, 12 & 13. Read how and why below.
Goal 3: Good health and well-being
Knowledge about periods and intimate hygiene is vital for all girls. We work to inform, communicate, and inspire on period topics in schools and sports clubs.
We reject sexualization of the female body, shame, and stigma related to periods. Our goal is for every girl and woman to feel comfortable and confident in her body every day.
Goal 4: Quality education
Periods should never be a reason to miss school. Since education is the most important factor for development and equality, every product sold contributes to girls’ education.
We also strive to support schools, youth clinics, and associations with knowledge about our products. Everyone deserves to know about different period protections and how to use them.
Goal 5: Gender equality
Women’s lives should not be limited by periods or other intimate leaks. Our ambition is to continue finding smart innovative solutions that improve women’s intimate (& mental) health.
We treat colleagues, partners, customers, and suppliers with respect. We reject all forms of discrimination and exploitation of individuals and actively work to represent and include people with different backgrounds and orientations.
Goal 6: Clean water and sanitation
Access to clean water is a prerequisite for all life and progress. Therefore, we support WaterAid, a nonprofit organization dedicated to securing access to clean water and sanitation.
Tampons and other period products are sometimes flushed down the toilet — often because there’s no bin available. Flushing creates big problems for sewage systems and treatment plants and should never be done. Our fabric bag can be a temporary solution if there’s no trash bin, keeping moisture and odor discreetly under control.
Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production
We help our customers make conscious choices by offering products with a long lifespan that fully or partially replace disposable items.
Our goal is to sell 150,000 panties within three years. If each panty reduces waste by about 3 disposable products per day and is used 12 times a year, that would reduce disposables by 5.4 million. If the panty is used once more during the cycle, the impact doubles.
For production, we only work with certified suppliers who guarantee compliance with our Code of Conduct.
Goal 13: Climate action
We produce our panties close to the source of the textiles, which reduces transport of raw materials and provides local employment opportunities.
Our products are wholly or partly made from organic raw materials certified by external control bodies. We continuously work to raise requirements and develop new methods to reduce our products’ environmental impact.
