Every day, hundreds of millions of women and girls have their period. It should be the most natural thing in the world, but in many countries, periods are still seen as shameful and taboo. A large group of girls are forced to leave school and get married when they start their period. In some parts of the world, periods are considered so shameful that girls are harassed. One in three schools worldwide lacks toilets, and as many as one in ten girls miss school during their period. Others have to use alternative protection like leaves or paper in their underwear, which can lead to serious infections.

Together we fight period poverty
When you shop at Comfydence, 10 SEK per pair of panties (plus 2.5% of other sales) goes directly to WaterAid — a nonprofit organization doing vital work around water and sanitation globally. WaterAid actively works to promote girls' rights, raise awareness about and combat period poverty, and create good opportunities for health and clean water worldwide. We want to give back
When we started Comfydence, we also wanted to create a bigger impact than just for those who buy our panties. Fighting period poverty and how periods limit women’s lives was close to our hearts. In our research on the subject, we found WaterAid, which effectively leads the fight and spreads awareness about period and hygiene issues. When we reached out to them, they were very positive, but it was not obvious how a collaboration would look.

Since then, Comfydence has been evaluated according to ethical and legal principles, and we can proudly call ourselves a partner of WaterAid.
